Such a prescient, beautiful sentiment.

The Club Elite

The Myth Of Paying Giant Salaries?

"A management change, with both Chief Executive Tony Hayward's and Chairman Carl-Henric Svanberg's jobs in jeopardy, could come when BP announces a capital raise, the paper said, citing an unnamed source close to the company.Without steps to steady the ship, BP could become a target of a takeover attempt from companies like ExxonMobil, Royal Dutch Shell, RDSa.L or PetroChina"

The BP oil disaster is a very large, mangled Ferrari! So many examples now exist, post the financial crash of our times, of greed, stupidity and arrogant disregard of the "little people". Time and time again we are told it is necessary to pay huge sums to get the right people in top jobs. OK, so if that's the case why did the crash happen and continue to linger? How come so many Council Chief Executives are piss poor? Bankers back at the trough? Bliar getting ever richer? Seems to me the problem is, once you have club membership, nothing can touch you from outside. One ticket to join is via political machinations. I guess the rest is as ever. "It's not what you know it's who you know"! Nice work if you an get it.

  1. There's quite a bit of speculation about this on European blogs OR. Many feel a takeover is imminent owing to the dealings of the US just prior to the leak becoming public.

  2. Hi, Subrosa, yup, Bilderbergers United!

  3. I wish I could decide how much to pay myself, especially if I had unfettered access to other peoples money.

  4. You do Demetrius, you do. You just don't know how to use 'the system'. The benefits system that is.

  5. OR, may I refer you to "The Peter Principle"? Observed time and again over the years.

Poor old Obarmy, there he was rubbing his hands together thinking that the new BP oil field would tide the US over the temporary blip in supplies when he bombed Iran and then, due to a bit of sloppy housekeeping, (thank you Lord Browne, recent appointee to the Coition Gummint) the oil is arriving on the US shores in an appallingly uncontrolled and unrefinable fashion. The Bilderbergers may need to review their tactics.

  6. Caratacus, indeed "The Peter Principle" is a tenet of the Bilderberger club! Add to that, "Be careful what you wish for" and the good Lord's sense of humour is seen to match his gift of freedom of choice.
