Sometimes Mainstream Reflects Bloggers!

Few of us will deny the second world war was won by the side with the superior morality. The irony here is how we got to have that, after having not been so altruistic hitherto! The linked article endorses this thought as worthy of consideration when we are now so immersed in less than decent behaviour.

I suppose it all stems back to the finite nature of life. We have but a short time to enjoy this Earth so ergo we need, it would appear, to fight and scrap for the "goodies" whilst we can. Yet are these trinkets those which give greater pleasure and joy than living peacefully and less greedily? It seems they are, or are deemed to be, the baubles with which to garner votes and power.

Depends on how far it descends. Time will tell.

Apparently Bush and Blair have been found guilty of war crimes against humanity, this under the same international laws applied at Nuremburg.
Amittedly it was a tribunal in Malaysia but a definite and positive first stip on the journey back to morality in life.

You seem to be ignoring the vast effort by the russians in terms of manpower, armament and wealth. After all it was the russians that captured Berlin.

Anon, were you to follow my blog you might well have teased out my respect for The Russian people, not political class, of some significance.
The efforts by The Russian people were those of defence of their homeland and desire to stop the rape and pillage beloved of the Nazi war machine. Ergo, the moral high ground was theirs.
They did rather squander that, as did The Libyans when allowing Gaddafi's murder.

Human nature's thirst for revenge is a very powerful one.
