Is today a special day in your family? One of my favourite songs too. It was the Andy Williams version I heard first.

Yes, I do hope that it's a special day for you and Mrs OR and not something altogether more worrying?

You are blessed OR.

Thank you all. Every day's a special day with this lady! We are fine bar issues from the past and far away that just highlighted my feelings.

She looks a lovely lady - OR you are truly blessed.

As a result of your thoughtful posting today OR, I listened again to a Roberta Flack CD I've had for years - and gazed anew with more than usual fondness upon the memsahib. This is how the ripples of goodness flow out into the ether.

Anyway, it occurred to me that this most beautiful piece of music was written by a devout communist and wartime deserter who wrote paeons of praise for Ho Chi Minh and cuddly Uncle Joe Stalin. It has reminded me that there is a spark of the godhead in us all if we are prepared to look for it!

Spine-tingling good music, OR.

Reminds me of the era in which I spent my working days replacing king-pins and bushes on Austin A 60s, welding Mini sub-frames and changing clutches on Austin 1100s. Bloody things....

Whatever it evokes in you and Mrs OR, it's got to be better than that!!!!!

Killem - I used to love spotting the DIY Mini subframe replacements crabbing up the road. What the handling was like I dread to think!

OR - hope I didn't mar a special day by referring to a lefty of the first water...

Hi, Guys. Sister-in Law and her fella are passionate mini owners and were sub frame welding only last week! Proud owners of two of the little survivors.

The front subframes were the most likely to need welding. The rears (on the majority of Minis) were usually covered in engine oil from the many leaks...

I'm not quite old enough to have worked on A 60's (father had one, though), and managed to avoid clutch replacement on the Mini, but spent many hours struggling with ball joint shimming!

Glad to hear Mrs OR is fine, I feared there might have been an ominous reason for the post as well. I wonder if she's aware of the "Mrs Bucket" title to the picture! Shouldn't that be "Bouquet"?

Oldrightie said...

Thank you for your kind words, Micro. The "Bucket" stems from an album of pics that celebrated a "Mrs Bouquet" bucket soiree!

What a delightful upbeat post. Tear in my eye etc, it reminded me to have a little think about Mrs Weasel.
