A Sad Day

A Village Mourns.

This wonderful drawing of David was done by his dear and talented friend, Roger, to adorn the memorial service sheet on the sad occasion of David's funeral today. Our wonderful, ancient Church was full to overflowing, as the village paid tribute and homage to this special guy. The power of this moving day and the coming together of so many disparate people, in an act of remembrance, was melancholy and sombre, happy and sad. The music was uplifting the service special, the send off fitting. In all that is so terrible in life, bereavement tests us the most. If that spirit here today were to invade the halls of power our world would be a better place. My faith is reinforced, my cynicism, unfortunately, likewise.

I'm so pleased to hear his life was celebrated by so many.

Bless you, Subrosa. How nice it would be if politicians were better people!

He sounds (and looks) like he was a lot of fun OR. You must be feeling the loss keenly.
