Chatterati

You Know Them Intimately!

I have a "new" word. Chatterati"- political commentators and/or media who wax lyrically on all matters political, whilst totally unaffected personally by any mistakes, errors or false witness. I feel that we seem to be getting an ever growing tribe of these people. If we were to rank them in any order of smugness, bias and arrogance, The BBC crowd would top the bill. A further added qualification for this title is that their income, pensions and wealth are often paid from the Public purse. You may care to add your own Chatterati name or names. I will run a poll on some of your choices. Do join in we are in need of some light but vengeful relief!

Who was the one who took over the swingometer? He so impressed me I've forgotten his name. Very irritating.

Adam Boulton. I can't stand him, smug bastard. He's looking more and more like a Labour politician everyday. He grows a new chin yearly.

I think we should have people like Jeremy Clarkson doing it. At least he has a sense of humour.

Sue, Boulton married Bliar's ex-squeeze. Subrosa, Vine, I think! All very good candidates for the chatterati poll to come!

With great reverence I nominate that well-known sexist, racist, arch-hypocrite and England hater, Yasmin Alibhai Brown

Marcellus, Wow! That's a good nomination!

I'd nominate Kevin Maguire, but he's probably more Chavverati. How about James Naughtie?

What's worse is that they hunt in packs. You dont just get one at a time.

How often in the last couple of days have you seen David Dimbleby interview Nick Robinson; or Andrew Neil (another one) being interviewed by John Sopel etc etc? I see Emily Makliss is a new addition to the tribe. Plus the Radio 4 bias brigade of John Humphrys, Jim Naughtie, Sarah Montague, Evan Davis and Justin Webb etc etc.

The BBC alone has tribes of them all lined up to talk to each other so it sounds like the only opinions on offer from anyone that you talk to are all in agreement.

It's the same on financial matters, one world view, many talking heads.

Exactly.

It is so subtle that 90% of people do not realise that they are effectively brainwashed.

But however much pride we can take in the enormous advance, we have to accept that we fell short of an overall majority. I know how much you wanted one - I wanted one too. But now we have to work with what we have...

Oh! Dearie me best get ready for an almighty shafting Oddie.

Power corrupts and the pursuit of personal power absolutely corrupts
Old Etonians know this in their very DNA.

Cant be bothered with the little people such as the conservative supporters.

Luvvies for Labour e.g. Eddie Izzard - a public school educated multi-millionaire who lives in America but instructs us to vote for Labour.

Ross Kemp (I know he's not a chatterati), but they brought him in to support Labour.

Ross Kemp who crapped himself when he was out in Iraq/Afghanistan with our troops.

Ross Kemp who somehow managed to glamourise gang warfare on Sky One and taught our youngsters how "black and Nazi" gangs operate in other countries.

Thank you all for input that is definitely not chatterati! We all have and are about to suffer hardship and loss of savings, pensions and dreams of a pleasant life. All in the name of "progression". I see this as progression backwards to a 1984 Big Brother culture. Give me an Eton mess any day! I shall draw up a list of your submissions for a poll to vote for top chatterati award later. For Lorenzo, a gobberati poll to follow by popular demand!
