Oldrighties Fifth Column

We have found it necessary to take measures of increasing stringency, not only against enemy aliens and suspicious characters of other nationalities, but also against British subjects who may become a danger or a nuisance should the war be transported to the United Kingdom. I know there are a great many people affected by the orders which we have made who are the passionate enemies of Nazi Germany. I am very sorry for them, but we cannot, at the present time and under the present stress, draw all the distinctions which we should like to do. If parachute landings were attempted and fierce fighting attendant upon them followed, these unfortunate people would be far better out of the way, for their own sakes as well as for ours. There is, however, another class, for which I feel not the slightest sympathy. Parliament has given us the powers to put down Fifth Column activities with a strong hand, and we shall use those powers subject to the supervision and correction of the House, without the slightest hesitation until we are satisfied, and more than satisfied, that this malignancy in our midst has been effectively stamped out.

this malignancy in our midst

Oldrightie and Mrs Oldrightie will be cheering our troops home in Hereford tomorrow. I hope to get some good pictures of real and not anonymous people! I will post them asap.

Malignancy in our Government notwithstanding.

Oldrighties Fifth Column

Thank you Subrosa, hope you are not roped in to be seen as a fifth columnist!

Hilarious but does this apply to everyone? I would prefer, Oldrighties Conservative fifth column, though. As for war transported to The UK, count me in on the front line to defend our shores, rather than wrecking innocent Afghan villages. I must say a Labour Warmonger is a new one on me! More like a lover of very fat women and a dole scrounger?

OR - I suspect you have diagnosed where the primary malignancy lurks; in the craven heart of vested interest politics. It's secondary tentacles infiltrating those, whose befuddled adhesions within the current body politic, are terminal.

Churchill,I reckon, would be furious to have his words misrepresented and didn't he think it was better to "Jaw, jaw than war, war"? But then he did mean intelligent "jaw, jaw"!

Thank you, Clarinda. Perhaps an independent Scotland would provide refugee status for me!

Count me in on the Fifth Column.

It was this Labour government that transported the war to this country by their illegal invasion of Iraq!

It was this government that allowed the terrorist elements to enter our country in their quest to buy immigrant votes.

It is STILL this government that allows a civil servant to cry "death to the troops" and keep his job.

It is this Labour Government that still has the audacity to stay in power even though the majority of voters want an election.

How can you not get angry knowing that this government has squandered, wasted and spent millions of taxpayers money on bugger all, while our troops are in Afghanistan and Iraq with crap equipment?

Everyone knows it's true. Anonymous is delusional, just like that prat of an unelected PM.

Funny how the most despicable have to be anonmyous. You can almost see Gordon with one finger on the keyboard and the other giving himself so much pleasure, where he usually keeps it.

In the meantime our soldiers die or are maimed.
